TUESDAY 11th SEPTEMBER 1979

TC tells me that Orme is absolutely furious and wants to expel the pupils involved in the fight with Garth School trouble is that she does not have a clue as to who was involved.

Garth is seemed sustained some damage to the playground and canteen although I don't believe anyone was seriously injured. Many of these fights are more show than violence. Trevor hints broadly that this might be one of those time when we might want to be seen to assist the administration and it clearly unaware that one of our 'own' was probably intimately involved in the punch up. He talks at length about offering Orme some names. But I say nothing, offering names violates all sorts of school codes particularly the one that says “do not beat up Cook!”

Editors note: Our researchers found a copy of a letter that was sent to the heads of all three schools. The letter recounts events at the school in the wake of the assault from the combined GHS and CHSB. If this incident serious repercussions for the pupils of Gaynesford is unclear and it seems unlikely that it did anything more than be added to the long list of similar incidents. We have reprinted the letter here. Click on the image for full size version.
